Retirement Readiness Assessments

InFRE® Retirement Knowledge QuestionnaireTM (RKQ) for advisors and other retirement professionals of financial services companies

RKQ

InFRE’s Retirement Knowledge Assessment was developed in 2007 by InFRE retirement professionals and financial planning faculty from Texas Tech University (TTU) as a standardized assessment for identifying retirement literacy education needs.

FINRA rules require advisors to have reasonable grounds for believing a recommendation is suitable based on facts disclosed by the client as to other security holdings, financial situation, objectives and needs.

However, gaps in advisor knowledge can potentially result in advisors not asking the right questions and making unsuitable product recommendations. The RKQ helps advisors identify where they need to learn more in order to be prepared for appropriately servicing clients’ current and future retirement needs. Financial services companies can also use the RKQ to manage the knowledge of their advisors by using the assessment to benchmark, measure and evaluate ongoing retirement education training and education programs from year-to-year.
