Preview course
This is the first study course in the CRC® certification program, and is
now available for continuing education credit*. The course provides training
in helping individuals
to identify, prioritize and meet their retirement goals. It
presents the basic tools of financial planning with a strong emphasis on how they can be
used to prepare for retirement. A unique feature of this course is discussion on how to
plan for retirement at the different stages of the life cycle.
Readers will learn methods
for motivating and educating plan members and employees on the need to save for
retirement, and the importance of taking personal responsibility for their own
financial futures.
Topics include: goal setting; performing time value of money calculations; cash
management; debt management; tax and estate planning strategies; budgeting; financial
inventory and organization; integrating employees' plans with spousal benefits; other
sources of retirement income besides the employer's plan; life cycle considerations; and
counseling pre- and post-retirement.

An open book test is included in the course materials**.
In addition to meeting the yearly 15 hour CE requirement for InFRE certificants, this
course also fulfills the ethics course requirement which is expected of all certificants
every two years.

contact InFRE to see if your state has approved the course.
** Insurance licensees: If you are applying this course toward insurance
licensing continuing professional education requirements, your jurisdiction may require
