The InFRE
Retirement Knowledge Questionnaire® was developed
by InFRE retirement experts and professionals along with financial
planning faculty from Texas Tech University as a
standardized testing tool for identifying the retirement and financial literacy
education needs of their employees. Originally developed as a
tool for the U.S. Office of Personnel Management as part of their
employee Retirement Readiness initiative, the Questionnaire is now being
offered to non-federal public and private sector employers to
measure and compare their retirement education program results from
year-to-year, as well as to help employees better utilize their
retirement plan and assume more personal responsibility for their
retirement.
How
Does Your Retirement Education Program Stack Up?
The Questionnaire is
designed for employees to assess their level of personal retirement
literacy for making informed retirement planning decisions over the
early, mid- and late phases of their career. Employers and plan sponsors use
the Questionnaire as a guide for best practices in retirement education
and to identify specific retirement planning (in addition to
investment) education needs. By evaluating the rolled up results
from Questionnaires completed by a representative employee base, it
is possible to establish retirement literacy benchmarks for programs
already in place, as well as determine current education program gaps.
