With so many options available to retirees, it is increasingly difficult to fully grasp the implications of each and every choice available. That's why you - as a retirement professional - need to become knowledgeable about:
  • Retirement income and risk management
  • Retirement investments
  • Retirement plans including
    • defined benefit
    • defined contribution
    • deferred compensation, and
    • IRAs

Through InFRE®, you can learn the concepts you need to be able to competently and professionally suggest strategies and counsel that can meet the goals of current and future retirees who need qualified guidance.

    InFRE Certifications Will Help

You can become more knowledgeable of their needs by becoming a Certified Retirement Counselor®, the InFRE certification program that is becoming recognized as one of the most comprehensive and informative in the retirement industry.

For more information on this important curriuclum, see CRC® course descriptions.

California Advisors Can Now Use the CRC® certification

The California Insurance Code now defines the CRC® certification as exempt from rules limiting the use of a “senior certification.” In practical terms, that means CRC® certificants are free to use their CRC® certification in their communications with the public (assuming an advisor’s internal compliance department also approves such usage). With this new exemption, the CRC® certification can now be used in all 50 states! More information about the California decision can be found at http://www.insurance.ca.gov/0200-industry/0050-renew-license/0300-cont-education/Senior-designations.cfm#TableA

    Retirement Income Management

Employees also need to know that there is much more to retirement planning than the accumulation phase. To help you better provide informed decision-making options to employees, InFRE offers workshops and certificate programs on Managing Retirement Income.

By using a six-step holistic approach, you will not only be able to provide important guidance in these decisions but also assure employees they are doing what is best for them and increasing their confidence in you.

InFRE makes this training accessible in a variety of ways. To purchase the special pre-recorded web course, simply click on Introduction to Managing Retirement Income. This is a 1½-hour session designed to help advisors and retirement counselors recognize how retirement distribution planning is different from retirement accumulation planning. Participants will be introduced to the challenges of managing income over a period of uncertain length and expense as well as how the definition of risk changes during retirement.

These concepts are also available in a unique pre-recorded audio CD format, a live recording of the 4-hour live course, or in a print version. Simply click Strategies for Managing Retirement Income.
